'Take it and suffer later on' or 'Suffer now'...

Guong
He urged the people in Sabah's east coast to accept the reality that a new power plant was necessary for the area, as it would not only benefit the industries but could also improve their economy with the creation of more jobs and business opportunities.DE
Is this a threat? It's like saying if you don't accept the coal-powered plant to be build here, you'll have lesser jobs and business opportunities. Holding Sabahan a ransom? Shame on you SESB and also to you, Sabah state government.

Everyone knows that coal is cheap, yet also polluting our environment. And speaking of cheap, isn't these coal will be imported from Indonesia? Would it still be cheap?

But really, do we actually have a choice? What about gas? Oh, it is already schedule to be pipe to Bintulu!

Since they broke their promises to scrap the Kimanis-Bintulu gas pipeline project, I wouldn't be surprised if this 'coal-powered plant' plan suddenly made available.

At the end, they left Sabahan with only two available option, take it and suffer later on or suffer now. No matter which one we choose, we'll still suffer. Damn!

Sabahan getting 'less poor'..?

Guong

KOTA KINABALU, Feb 10 — There are 16,403 hardcore poor households in Sabah currently, from 21,514 in 2007, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said today. more

Really? But what I see is quite different or should I say pretty much the same as 'usual'. Who are these hardcore poor peoples. Are the squatters included which are mostly Illegal Immigrants?

Or is this some kind of hint that a by-election is coming in 'you know where'.

Musa also said that the Rural and Regional Development Ministry had allocated RM100 million for the building of 2,486 units of houses in Sabah this year.

The state government was also allocated RM 23.2 million for implementation of programmes to provide a better livelihood for the people, which included career development training, nutritional and supplementary food programme, he added. — Bernama. news

Another huge allocation. This isn't the first time. But what have been done that really stands out and beneficial to Sabahan in general? And, I'm not talking about shopping complex or mall (like 1Borneo) but resources development.

Seems like this is just another statistic and numbers that will be used as bait in political campaign. Sigh..

Hello, we're not that Dumb..!

Guong

Lajim: "If you ask me, I feel it is a democratic practice. Those who jump do not do it for personal gain, they do it for the interest of the people...." DE
Ooo...it's for the interest of the people. Who are you fooling? Democratic practice? How on earth can it be democratic when one cheat the peoples that was supporting him/her by jumping party? Declare these frogs assets then.

Lajim: "...When I jumped to Umno it helped the BN form the government, and the result was Sabah was given UMS (Universiti Malaysia Sabah),"DE
Oh, that was the reason Sabah was given UMS. So, if it wasn't for you, there would be no University for Sabah la.. So this UMS was build base on political motive and not to improve Sabahan education industries. No wonder most school in Sabah are still poor in term of infrastructure. And most of UMS students are not Sabahan either since Sabahan lack the necessary education needed to qualify due to poor school development and environment.

Lajim mentioned other benefits which the people of Sabah enjoyed when BN took over Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) in 1994, such as the asphalt road which now links Beaufort to Sipitang. DE
Yeah, right, and why does my place still use gravel road? And what is the condition of the roads in Sabah? And not forgetting the Illegal Immigrants that are swarming Sabah. Oh, and SDC. Where is it?

Like always, sweet talking...just that.

SDC, now MSC...??!

Guong

Sabah is going for cyber development. Wow, nice plan...or..?

KOTA KINABALU, Jan 28 — The State government is expected to submit the Sabah Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) Plan within the next three months, an initiative to spur the state’s information and communication technology (ICT) industry. The Malaysian Insider..
So, how's Sabah state government going to make it happen?

“We have a little bit of money still for the last two years, so I’m hoping they (Sabah government) can submit the MSC Plan within the next three months, in order to fit into the various economic packages by the government,” he told reporters after launching Universiti Malaysia Sabah’s (UMS) research directory, here, today. The Malaysian Insider..
Great, but wait a minute, what about SDC? Have it started yet? What is Sabah state government priority? I'm confused. And 'have a little bit of money for the last two years'? Does that mean for the last two years, they kept the money instead of investing it on Sabah development? No wonder Sabah state yearly budget always has big numbers yet small development.

I'm not against this MSC plan. It's good, I know. But how is it going to became reality when in truth, Sabah basic infrastructures such as road, power grid, school etc are far from complete. Shouldn't they improve these need first? Even if MSC were to be done, it will only benefit those who are in a more urban area. What about the rural folks?

Speaking of which, SDC is still 'static' in term of implementation. Actually a lot of the plan are still in 'static' mode such as the allocation promised to solve the Illegal Immigrants issues.

And this MSC plan for Sabah is no new plan. It was already proposed back in 2004. read here

I can't help but wonder, how do they come out with these development plans for Sabah.

What about Pensiangan?

Guong

It is official, PAS/PR wins and UMNO/BN lost in Kuala Terengganu by-election. Many have predicted this outcome. Well, now what about Pensiangan would be by-election. The case is still not yet resolve by the court.

Will it be the same?.... I doubt it...we'll just have to wait and see..

Why I doubt it? Too many wannabe candidates are setting their eyes on this seat. SAPP, PKR, Bebas and UMNO/BN. Not to mentions a different vibe of voters compared to West Malaysian.

Issues to bring in for Pensiangan by-election is an issue itself. They probably wouldn't give a damn about racial issues, NEP, religion or any of those 'Peninsular' stuff. All these issues doesn't really affecting Sabahan in the first place.

Racial issues? Never heard of any racially motivated clashes causing hundreds of casualties or death in Sabah. NEP? It didn't even happen (or exist?) in Sabah. If it does there would be a lot of rich Sabahan natives yet Sabah is the poorest state (with abundant of resources). Religion? One family tree in Sabah can consist of different religion, race and belief yet they can still keep a good and harmony relationship.

Development issues might be the key in gaining their vote. In fact, that is what most Sabahan need. So, if there were to be by-election in Pensiangan, expect a lot of "Janji-janji Manis" and "Projek-projek" for the F class contractors. Not forgetting free zinc roofs, blue toilets and upgrading the gravel road with... new gravel. Which will only last until the next election just so they can give it again as "sweet present".

Predictable...

Kimanis-Bintulu....one way??

Guong

Pak Lah did it again. His flip-flop policy seems remain unchanged even though his days as PM almost over. In the recent 23rd PBS Annual Congress, he stunned everyone that the scrapped Kimanis-Bintulu Gas Pipeline project as demanded by Sabah is now ON again! He didn't even explain why it was on again.

UPKO leader Bernard G. Dompok was the most vocal on this matter. Or maybe the ONLY Sabahan leader that being vocal on this matter. What about the other Sabahan leader? Yet to hear any 'noise'.

Why must the gas be piped to Bintulu? Why must the government spend a huge sum of money just to build the pipeline to Bintulu when building Sabah's own gas refinery would be more practical and beneficial to Sabah. It's Sabah own resource we're talking about. It's not that we don't want to share but why not make Sabah as the main hub instead of Sarawak? I've got nothing against Sarawak but this is just so unfair.

With this resource, Sabah state can actually solve its 'blackout' problem. It can also create new job opportunity for the local. Most importantly, it can boost Sabah's economy development. It will provide a much more diverse opportunity to develop Sabah as a whole.

RM3 billion worth of 500km gas pipeline, why not just make one refinery in Sabah? Save more cost.

On May 31, Pak Lah assured Sabah leader in Kota Kinabalu that this project will be scrapped. So much for the assurance. But the worst part is, why are the other Sabah leaders seems to ignore this? Have they no 'balls' to say anything? Damn..

kick starting "Sabah Development Corridor"

Guong

Everyone knows about SDC. It was one of the development corridor projects that have been planned by the government before the 12th G.E. It was such a hype back then. To gain the rakyat vote, maybe?

But, that was then, what about the present? Where is SDC currently? In progress or....?
Recently, MP YB Datuk Ghapur raised this SDC issue in the parliament. He was asking for an explanation on why the SDC has yet to see any implementation even though it was launch last year. But, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Senator Datuk Amirsham Aziz refuse to answer the question or maybe he actually doesn't even have any answer. I think you can guess what happen next in this session of parliament.

Our PM also made an announcement concerning these corridors project.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that the government will shelve some of the projects to weather the global economic slowdown, including those that are in the economic corridors. Malaysia Today
If you doesn't trust alternative media, click this link> Utusan

But then, Najib said that everything (development corridors project) was doing just fine. He was saying this in the recent launching of the Sabah International Expo in Kota Kinabalu. 1st article. 2nd article. In the 2nd article, this line caught my attention.

To kick start the SDC, the Federal Government allocated another RM5 billion to upgrade the state’s infrastructure.
Another RM5 billion and yet any progress on the SDC by our State Government? No wonder Datuk Ghapur raise this issue.

So, which is which? SDC was already launch since last year yet not a single 'sand' was moved in term of implementation. What is our CM doing since the SDC was supposed to be under his jurisdiction? Then Najib says everything is doing just fine but Pak Lah is going to review which project should be postpone or 'shelve'. Will it be SDC? Judging by the current world economy, the option wouldn't be good one.

To our leader, walk the talk please.
