"State's success due to political stability: CM" ??

Guong

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman said the development currently enjoyed by the people in Sabah is the result of political stability and continued economic growth. Daily Express, 12 October 2008

Have you read this in the news? What on earth was he talking about when mentioning Sabah's success? Didn't he know that Sabah is the worst when it comes to the rakyat well being? Didn't he know that we currently are the poorest state in Malaysia?

After reading the whole article (to read click.), he was actually talking about the future programs that have been planed to eradicate poverty in Sabah. What with the misleading title?

He pointed out that the State Government had outlined several programmes to eliminate hardcore poverty among the people. Daily Express, 12 October 2008

But this one just doesn't make sense

Musa also pointed out that Sabah was experiencing an upward economic trend, with more foreign investments pouring in to prompt more positive economic growth. Daily Express, 12 October 2008

Sabah "was" experiencing an upward economic trend? If we were, why did Sabah had the highest poverty level in Malaysia? Or maybe the reporter misquote him by using the word "was". But even if it was misquote, it still doesn't make sense since currently the world economy is in turmoil. How come Sabah experiencing an upward economic trend when the world economy is going downward? Who are these foreign investors that are pouring in to Sabah? Where do they come from? Does it benefit all Sabahan or just the cronies?

It doesn't need a genius to figure that out. Or maybe he thought that
Sabahan are unable to think.
